There were so many things about this book that just didn't appeal to me. First there was the writing style. I just didn't like it. Second, I didn't think the sentences flowed very well and therefore that took away from a lot of the story. Only near the end did the book actually get remotly interesting and that is because of the drama and dragons and faeries.

Overall it wasn't that great of a book to me.

I read this book a while ago, back before I started a book blog, but it was so good I have to share it with you.

The book starts off with Waverly's life normal and happy, but then everything changes when the people of the New Horizon attack the Empyrean and do some seriously bad things to the people, especially the young girls.

I love how Ryan brings religion into the plot and then questions it.

Then the cliffhanger ending... Kieran turning to religion to help the boys left on the ship. This book will surely not disappoint any reader.

There is need. And then there is Fate...

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

I absolutly hate that I have to wait... hang on while I count on my fingers... eight months until the next book comes out! I will literally be counting down the days. It was that good of a book!!!!

Once again Armentrout has captivated me with the world of the Pures, Halfs, Daimons, and the two Apollyons.

Alex is faced with the death of her best friend, Aiden not saying he loves her back, Daimon attacks on the Covenant, the connection with Seth keeps getting stronger, she recieved her first mark of the Apollyon, adn was able to use two of the elements. And not to mention having to go to New York to answer questions about her mother and Gatlinburg in front of the entire council.

And then the ultimate cliffhanger ending.... A full scale Daimon attack at the New York covenant.

That's all I'm saying, so if you want to know more I seriously would encourage you to go read this, but if you haven't read Daimon or Half-Blood read those first.

The one and only thing that bothered me was a few minor spelling and grammar errors, but I can look past those.

After reading this book I am still swapping back and forth between Aiden and Seth. I think Seth will eventually become the God killer and Alex will end up with Aiden because he really does care about her.

I thought this book would be so much better than it was. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but I know how it will end - they die - and that just makes me not want to read the book. I only made it halfway through before decideing that I should just stop and read something else. 

I still would encouurage you to read it if you like the Lux Series.

This was an amazing book. There really isn't much I can say about it. It gave an excellent look into the life of Nine before being captured by the Mogadorians.

(By the way, she is my new favorite author!)

ABOUT THE BOOK:

There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

MY REVIEW:

Oh. My. Gods. (You will understand the Gods part when you read the book.) That was an AMAZING book. The world that Armentrout has created is very unique and interesting! I was so sad that I couldn't read it all in a day due to having to read the diver manual, which I put off the last twenty or so pages to finish this.

The beginning of the book picks up right where the last one left off. Alex is ready to fight of diamons as they close in on her, but through a strange stroke of luck the one guy, the one pure-blood she dreamed about ever since she left the covenant, comes swooping in to save the day. The only reason I told you this part is because it is pretty obvious the diamons don't eat her aether because the book just started. But you won't believe what kind of relationship brews between them later on and that's not throwing in everything else that turns Alex's world upside-down.

Over all the book is action packed with some romance thrown into the mix and I couldn't get enough of this book!!!! I suggest you go get a copy if you don't already have one!!!

The one and only thing bad about this book, well not nescisarily this book but the whole series is that the next one is not out yet!

MY REVIEW:
I downloaded the sample onto my Kindle last night. I was amazed when I reached the end of the sample I was sad that was all I had downloaded and had to get the whole thing. It took me about 12 hours to read with breaks outside to help in the barn.

COVER:
The cover is hauntingly beautiful. The color scheme went very well with the picture. I loved the blue of his eyes and I think that is what drew me to take a look at this book. I love it.

STORY:
Very unique idea that a girl that sees souls would fall for Death.
The end of the book was where I felt it go REALLY good. I was a little disappointed at the last line, but wow what a cliffhanger to leave for the next book. Even if I didn't like this book I would be comming for the second one just to see who Leif actually is.

I loved loved LOVED it.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
