Goodreads Synopisis:

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks...

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon's determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I've sworn him off, even though he's running more hot than cold these days. But we've got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town...

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I'm a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who's got a secret of his own. He knows what's happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes...

I've seen someone who shouldn't be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he's never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them--from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies...

To begin with, there is so much about Jennifer's writing style that I simply adore! Her characters are so relateable and there is just a depth to her books that I think is hard to find in many other books.

Katy is by far one of my favorite characters. I didn't know anything about the book blogging world until I read the first Lux novel and read that Katy was a book blogger. The idea of sharing and reviewing what you love to read is great, and has been an escape from the real world in a sense more so than me trying to write a novel will ever provide.

It seems like Katy and Daemon have everything going against them through out the whole book, and it is true that they do. Nothing ever goes right and when it does, there is always something that comes along to make it all go bad again. But that is what makes a great story; the struggle for the characters to remain sane while all of the crazy nonsense is taking place around them.

If not for work I would have devoured it in one sitting. Sitting in the break room reading my kindle I thought to myself, would they really notice if I didn't go backout there after my break? But that little voice in my head was nagging me that I couldn't sit there and read forever.

The Lux series and all of Jennifer's books are always needing to be read in one sitting. They are the kind of books that make you forget about your need for food, water, and needing to use the restroom. They make you forget about your responsibilities and allow you to get lost in the wonderful world of books.

Great job Jen and I cannot wait to read the rest of your books!
