Waiting on Wednesday - Obsession
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating.
Obsession
Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publication: March 2013 - Entangled Publishing, LLC (Covet)
Goodreads Synopsis:
USA Today bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout's adult novel Obsession, which takes place in the world of the YA series The Lux, in which a young woman discovers an alien race is behind her best friend's death, making her the next target, and must rely on a sexy, domineering stranger to protect her, who turns out to be the biggest threat of them all - an Arum.
Obsession is slated for March 2013 release date from Entangled and currently a standalone.
What does Jen have to say about Obsession?
What can I tell you about Obsession?
An Arum. Yes. You read that right.
Obsession does take place in the same world that Katy and Daemon inhabit.
Obsession is more mature, definitely targeted toward the older crowd. It's an adult romance, so you know what that means.
Obsession will change what you think you know about the Luxens and Arums.
There will be some crossover with certain characters from the Lux Series. (I'm gonna guess that the character is Mathew, but I could be completly wrong)
Obsession takes place in-between Opal and the fourth Lux novel, which is called Origin.
Hunter and Serena are the lead characters in Obsession... Check out the tease HERE and HERE (they are two different teasers, so read them both)
Hunter is a true alpha male and is one of my favorite characters I've written. He's like Daemon and Seth rolled into one. Totally no holds bars. Hunter is... well, he's hunter.
You don't have to read the Lux Series to read Obsession.
And if you enjoyed Obsidian and Daemon, well, I think you're going to enjoy Obsession.

The child of alchemists, Donna feels curesed by the magical heritage that destroyed her parents and any chance she had for a normal life. The only thing that keeps her sane and grounded is her relationship with her best friend, Navin Sharma.
When the darkest outcasts of Faerie--the vicious wood elves--abduct Navis, Donna finally has to accept her role in the centuries old war between the humans and the fey. Assisted by Xan, a gorgeous half-fey dropout with secrets of his own, Donna races to save her friend--even if it means betraying everything her parents and the alchemist community fought to the death to protect.

Don't. Ever. Peek.
Seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander just broke that rule and saw the last person she expected hovering above her bed--arrogant Jackson Locke, the most popular boy in her school. She expects instant execution or some kind of freak alien punishment, but instead, Jackson issues a challenge: help him, or everyone on Earth will die.
Ari knows she should report him, but everything about Jackson makes her question what she's been taught about his kind. And against her instincts, she's falling for him. But Ari isn't just any girl, and Jackson wants more than he attention. She's a military legacy who's been trained by her father and exposed to war strategies and societal information no one can know--especially an alien spy, like Jackson. Feed My Reader Friday - 1
All links to purchase the ebooks for Feed My Reader Friday will be to the Amazon Kindle store.
So I have been having a bit of a Jennifer L. Armentrout book obsession lately and I have been filling my kindle with as many of them as I can find.
Onyx
Jennifer L. Armentrout
$4.99
Goodreads Synopsis:
Being connected to Daemon Black sucks...
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon's determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I've sworn him off, even though he's running more hot than cold these days. But we've got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town...
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I'm a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who's got a secret of his own. He knows what's happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes...
I've seen someone who shouldn't be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he's never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them--from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies...

Goodreads Synopsis:
No on is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn't fooling around. Doubting him isn't something I'll so again, and now that we've made it through the rough patches, well... There's a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can't protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I'm no longer the same Katy. I'm different... And I'm not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I'm capabke of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will becaome the deadliest of enemies, but we won't turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we're stronger... and they know it.

To begin with, there is so much about Jennifer's writing style that I simply adore! Her characters are so relateable and there is just a depth to her books that I think is hard to find in many other books.
Katy is by far one of my favorite characters. I didn't know anything about the book blogging world until I read the first Lux novel and read that Katy was a book blogger. The idea of sharing and reviewing what you love to read is great, and has been an escape from the real world in a sense more so than me trying to write a novel will ever provide.
It seems like Katy and Daemon have everything going against them through out the whole book, and it is true that they do. Nothing ever goes right and when it does, there is always something that comes along to make it all go bad again. But that is what makes a great story; the struggle for the characters to remain sane while all of the crazy nonsense is taking place around them.
If not for work I would have devoured it in one sitting. Sitting in the break room reading my kindle I thought to myself, would they really notice if I didn't go backout there after my break? But that little voice in my head was nagging me that I couldn't sit there and read forever.
The Lux series and all of Jennifer's books are always needing to be read in one sitting. They are the kind of books that make you forget about your need for food, water, and needing to use the restroom. They make you forget about your responsibilities and allow you to get lost in the wonderful world of books.
Great job Jen and I cannot wait to read the rest of your books!
